2014 International Mimar Sinan Prize

The first award which has been given in 2014 was held in two separate categories; first category award was given to the architects that are Mediterranean born and realized works in the Mediterranean, the second award was given to the architects who have realized works in the Mediterranean Area. Two architects, SHAHIRA FAHMY (Egypt) and CENGİZ BEKTAŞ (Turkey) have been awarded in the first category in 2014. And BERNARD TSCHUMI (Switzerland) has been awarded because of his works in the Mediterranean Region in the ‘non-Mediterranean architects’ category.

Mediterranean Mimar Sinan Prize was held at the Tophane-i Amire Cultural Center of MSGSU on May 2, 2014, 17:30 with the participation of these three successful architects. Following the ceremony, a panel was organized under the title “Architectural Design in Mediterranean Culture: Learning from Tradition” with the participation of prize winning architects at MSGSÜ Sedad About Eldem Auditorium on 3 May 2014, 14:30.
